Cause

As a consequence of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, ACME Cosmetic Components has been running its North American operations at modestly reduced levels since mid-month, due to the personal choices made by some associates to self-quarantine and avoid the potential of contracting or passing along the virus unknowingly. However, in the last week, demand has continued to wane, with many customers now extending planned shipments into late April or May.

Action(s) taken

Given the softening of our volume, and the desire to exercise an abundance of caution, ACME has decided to suspend its operations for two weeks, pursuant to the Executive Action taken by both Governors Murphy (Number 107) and Cuomo (Executive Order 202.6), as well as the Major Disaster Declaration issued to NJ by the Federal Government today. Therefore, beginning with the close of business on Friday, April 3, ACME operational associates will be furloughed for weeks 15 and 16 of the fiscal year (April 6- 20). Over the following weekend (April 4), the facility will be deep cleaned and sanitized, to assure that any potential for viral or bacterial contamination is reduced, beyond the levels accomplished with our daily regimen already in place. Once the facility is purged, and the requisite 14-day shelter-at-home period satisfied, the company expects to resume operation, pending an assessment of the broader environment at that time.

Limited office operations will continue

For our customers and suppliers, the ACME office staff will continue working from home, and will remain in contact until normal operations resume. To the extent that we can support your efforts digitally, we will most certainly be glad to do so. Feel free to reach out as you see fit, and we will respond accordingly. As soon as the doors are reopened,

we will announce the timing of resumed shipments. Note that while Secaucus will be closed for at least two weeks,ACME’s Germanand Chinese operations remain open, and therefore a viable option for customers for whom it makes sense.
